Workforce Development Committee

Purpose
The Workforce Development Committee is committed to facilitating and promoting careers in the construction industry. The committee works to establish and strengthen relationships between ABC RMC member companies and qualified job seekers, ensuring that member organizations have access to a talented and capable workforce.
Milestones
In 2025, the committee undertook a significant revamp of the ABC RMC Scholarship program. As a result, four scholarship winners were selected and recognized for their achievements. Two recipients were awarded scholarships of $3,000 each, and two additional recipients received $2,000 each, bringing the total awarded by ABC RMC to $10,000. These awards were presented at the ABC RMC Safety Conference and STEP Awards ceremony, highlighting the committee’s commitment to supporting future industry professionals.
Upcoming
With schools now back in session, the committee is collaborating with industry partners to explore new ways in which the ABC RMC Workforce Development Committee can better serve its community. Looking ahead, a significant increase in scholarship applications is anticipated, setting the stage for another impactful year of supporting workforce development in the construction sector.
Safety Committee
Chair: Katie Nichols, Director of Safety, Kenny Electric
Purpose
The Safety Committee is dedicated to providing safety training and education to member companies, with the goal of fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Milestones
- 2025 Safety Conference: The committee successfully hosted the annual Safety Conference, which was attended by over 75 participants. This event provided valuable insights and networking opportunities for safety professionals across member companies.
- STEP Participation: There was a notable increase in the participation of ABC member companies in the Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program, reaching over 60% of all members. This demonstrates the committee’s commitment to advancing safety standards within the industry.
- Safety Lunch & Learns: Two Lunch & Learn sessions were organized, focusing on important safety topics relevant to the construction industry. These sessions provided practical knowledge and encouraged discussion among attendees.
- ABC and OSHA Alliance: In early 2025, ABC RMC and OSHA formalized an alliance to collaborate on safety initiatives and promote best practices among member companies.
Events Committee

Purpose
The Events Committee is dedicated to delivering value to members and fostering strong connections within the organization. This is achieved through a diverse range of events, including general networking opportunities, sporting events, educational sessions and PAC fundraisers. A core objective of the committee is to ensure each event generates a profit, which in turn supports the chapter’s ongoing initiatives.
Milestones
ABC Bucks was reinstated as an incentive for members to actively participate in events and other ABC activities. Members can redeem Bucks to purchase auction items during the Annual Holiday Party and Silent Auction.
Membership Committee
Chair: Jerry Kemper, Projects Account Manager, Colorado Mechanical Systems
Purpose
The Membership Committee is focused on delivering member value to retain members and recruit new members for growth at the Rocky Mountain Chapter. Growth goals include the following benchmarks: increase total membership by 20%, achieve a 60% contractor ratio and reach 88% retention/renewals.
Milestones
Throughout the year, the committee has celebrated key milestones such as regionalizing task forces in Northern Colorado (NoCo) and Southern Colorado (SoCo), which have hosted events tailored for new members, prospects and long-standing ABC members alike. These efforts are designed to strengthen engagement and promote the value that ABC offers through the dedicated work of its committee members.
Upcoming
In alignment with the committee’s growth objectives and ongoing engagement initiatives, the chapter is also looking to hire a membership director to further drive recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring continued success in meeting ambitious benchmarks and supporting members across the region. Recent activities have included events that foster connections among ABC members and promote collaborative partnerships, such as panel discussions focused on economics, risk management and tariffs, as well as participation in Construction Con at The Ranch Complex in Loveland, highlighting the organization’s strong ties with LOGIC and the wider construction community.
Young Professionals

Co-Chair: Ryan Almaleh, Senior Associate Broker, Avison Young
Purpose
The committee’s objective is to create meaningful opportunities for young professionals to connect, grow and give back through education, networking and community involvement. Throughout the year, the group hosts a mix of professional development and social events designed to strengthen relationships across member companies while reinforcing ABC’s core values of skill, integrity and responsibility.
Milestones
In 2025, the committee achieved several milestones, including the successful addition of new Lunch & Learn events focused on leadership and industry education, as well as strong attendance across all Young Professional events throughout the year. These efforts have helped enhance engagement, expand professional development opportunities and create more consistent value for members.

Looking ahead, the committee is also preparing to launch an exciting new initiative, the ABC Rocky Mountain Emerging Leaders Program, which will provide a structured, year-long experience for rising professionals. In 2026, keep an eye out for more events like our Lunch & Learns and community service projects supporting local nonprofit partners. These events continue to reinforce our commitment to developing future leaders while giving back to the communities where we live and build.
Education Committee

Purpose
The Education Committee is dedicated to providing comprehensive professional, business, leadership and other educational programs specifically designed to address the needs of member companies. By prioritizing innovative and effective learning methodologies, the committee aims to strengthen professional competencies across the industry. Furthermore, the committee actively promotes collaboration and drives innovation, thereby supporting the sustained growth and advancement of ABC members.
Milestones
Throughout the past year, the Education Committee continued to provide high-quality educational training to members. Notable offerings included sessions on Strategic Planning and Understanding Prevailing Wages. The committee closed out the fourth quarter with a comprehensive four-part series, Fundamentals of Crew Leadership, further supporting members in developing essential leadership skills and advancing their careers.

Looking ahead, the Education Committee is planning to expand its range of offerings by introducing workshops on emerging industry trends, fostering peer-to-peer learning opportunities and collaborating with experts to deliver targeted sessions that address current challenges faced by members. By continually adapting its programming, the committee is dedicated to empowering professionals at every stage of their careers and ensuring that ABC’s member companies remain at the forefront of industry knowledge and best practices.
Government Affairs Committee
Chair: Nicholas Siakotos, Risk Manager and Counsel, MTech Mechanical
Purpose
The Government Affairs Committee proactively reviews and helps establish the legislative agenda for the chapter. The committee is responsible for monitoring current and proposed legislative actions at both the local and state levels that impact members and the construction industry overall. The committee can then recommend lobbying activities to further the legislative agenda.
Milestones
The committee held a Construction Day at the Capitol in 2025 to create more awareness of the importance of open and fair competition to the industry. The committee provided testimony at the Capitol on six salient bills on behalf of the construction industry.
